Original Design

We just started our BLUEPRINT SERIES in our Sunday Worship Experiences. For three weeks starting this Sunday, we will be talking about biblical manhood, God’s original design for man. Here are some of my random thoughts about the original design of man and woman from the Bible:

26Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. – Genesis 1:26-27

27So God created mankind in his own image…

  • We are created in the image of God. We carry the image of God in us that’s why satan hates you. satan wants to destroy you because you have the image of God. When satan looks at you and sees the image of God in you, he’s reminded that he’s defeated and he’s nothing compared toy you and our God. If you are a gay, lesbian, homosexual, transgender, or whatever distorted image you have, all your reason why you ended up like that including your family background, past experiences and lies are from the enemy. It’s about time to restore your original design. God is the only one who can do that because created in His image.
  • We are created in the image of God. Jesus is the perfect gentleman. Even if it’s not natural to you, do your best to be a gentleman. When you enter a room, be the one to open the door, don’t wait for the women to do it. When walking in the road, stay on the danger side. When in danger, don’t run ahead leaving the women instead protect them.
  • Jesus pursued us. MEN are to pursue. WOMEN are to be pursued. Not the other way around.
  • Our design was written in the Bible. MEN read your Bible as well as the women. TO THE WOMEN: Don’t fall to a man who can drink cans of beer, play DoTA or lift weights but can’t read his Bible.

“…in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

  • MALE & FEMALE. If you have a male sex organ, you are a male. If you have a female sex organ, you are a female. Nothing in between! MEN and women as well, you always know that whenever you go to the CR and pee.
  • The world defined manhood in ways that are distorted.

“Drink this beer and you become a man”

“Smoke this cigar and you become a man.”

“Have sex with the girls and you become a man.”

  • “Being a male is a matter of birth but being a man is matter of choice.”- Ed Cole

In a way, because of sin, we all have a distorted image. The only way is to go back to the One who designed and created us. God is so much willing to fix those distortions because He wants the best for us!

…a Christian

As the song says, “I was once lost but now I’m found”. Jesus died for me and he redeemed me. I am now a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come. I have a personal relationship with God. I love Jesus and I’m proud to call myself a Christian. November 9, 2006, I surrendered my life to Jesus and since then God did a lot of great things in my life. And I know, even before that God was taking care of me even though I didn’t notice that time. If I were to enumerate all the good things that God has done in my life, it will consume all your time to read it. One thing is for sure, God is GOOD. Again, I’m a Christian but I’m not yet perfect. I’m a work in progress!

…a disciple

A disciple is someone who follows God, fellowships with others and fishes for people. I follow God. The Bible is my sole authority in everyday life. I am a member of Victory Laoag, a church that exists to honor God and make disciples. I disciple people, I help them follow God, fellowship with others and fish for people.

…a campus missionary

I believe that I’m called by God to reach the campuses in full-time capacity. I love the next generation and I believe in them. I love this job. I believe that if we will change the campus, we will eventually change the world. We need to reach out to the CAMPUS because:

1. The campus is where the future leaders of society are located.

2. The campus is where major movements have started.

3. The values of the campus will become the values of society.

4. The campus is where the most available, trainable masses are located.

5. Majority of those who become Christians make the decision during their student years.

6. The campus is where thousands of international students from unreached nations are studying and are very open to being reached for Christ.

7. God has promised to pour out His Spirit in the last days upon sons and daughters.

8. When you reach a student, you touch his or her family.

I am a christian. I am a disciple. I am a campus missionary.

But.. all these are nothing apart from my Savior, Jesus Christ! Because in Him, I have everything.
